Responsible for the timely, complete, and accurate preparation, review, and analysis of the Balance Sheet in accordance with internal and external procedures and requirements. The Analyst II is required to execute the day-to-day assigned responsibilities of the position in an independent manner, advised by Senior Assistant Manager for complicated situations which will have an impact on the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of internal control.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Analyse the Balance Sheet for reasonability by performing period-over-period comparison and obtaining details and explanations for significant fluctuations and unusual items following the materiality established, including suspense accounts monitoring and resolution.
- Responsible for journal entries preparation and uploading when needed.
Identify and communicate with transits all issues that require investigation and explanation, contact finance system team support personnel for system issues, and escalate issues that require supervisor and/or manager intervention. - Monitor the daily and monthly Foreign Exchange Rates and publish rate table to Finance Website monthly. Responsible for providing data for certain currencies. Advise all financial department users of any changes (new and obsolete currencies) and provide complete documentation required for set up of the new currency.
- Ensure SOX documentation is prepared and updated regularly for relevant processes, as well as keep updated the Desktop Procedures for all the activities assigned.
- Actively participate in projects oriented to processes improvement for the assigned functions
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Good analytical and communications skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to work under tight time constraints.
- Familiarity with Bank's reporting requirement.
- General understanding of accounting concepts.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Analytics and PeopleSoft. Proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
- Alteryx experience would be an asset but not required.
- Accounting Designation or working towards would be an asset.
