Purpose
Leads and oversees investment communications, project management, and process optimization to support execution of the GPS team's global mandate, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Drives the development and delivery of high-impact global investment communication strategy across multiple GWM wealth distribution channels and geographies supported by the GIS team. Oversees strategic project delivery through execution leadership, implementation of complex platforms and processes to support advisor and client experience in alignment with GIS priorities. Leads operational process optimization to enhance efficiency, scalability and service delivery for advisors and other stakeholders supported by GIS team.
Accountabilities
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Global investment communication strategy
- Leads the Global Investment Communications team to deliver high-quality, consistent and impactful advisor and client investment communications support across all GWM wealth distribution channels & geographies.
- Designs and executes a unified end-to-end GWM investment communication strategy and the global interaction model (supporting transition to a global team across GIS) enabling seamless collaboration between global teams and internal partners to deliver elevated advisor and client experience.
- Creates and implements Global Policies & Procedures, incorporating best practices, regulatory and compliance frameworks to facilitate the delivery of global and regionally tailored insights.
- Strengthens the value proposition of fee-based and managed asset programs by defining best-in-class advisory/client support model.
- Optimizes communication channels and platforms to deliver tailored content and updates, driving engagement with internal teams, advisors, and clients.
Project management and governance
- Oversees the successful execution of GPS team's strategic & transformational initiatives, including global alignment, wealth governance structures, expansion of managed asset programs, platform roll-outs, and internal process improvements. Ensures key projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with broader organizational goals.
- Deepens partnerships with stakeholders and internal/external partners to effect GPS/GIS agenda.
- Establishes and executes a robust governance framework for GPS projects, ensuring clear accountability. Leads/Chairs key transformation governance and other relevant committees. Represents GPS on partner committees related to enablement.
- Leads senior executive engagements and updates. Owns overall delivery global-local quality & governance, standardization. Ambassador of continuous innovation, learning, high performance culture.
Process optimization and continuous improvement
- Drives continuous improvement of internal processes across GPS mandate to improve quality, efficiency and scalability of broader deliverables and service offering.
- Identifies areas for process optimization, implements best practices, and introduces innovative solutions to streamline workflows.
- Develops and monitors KPIs to measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
Cross-functional leadership and team integration
- Leads and guides teams in working together, ensuring collaboration across regions and business lines to deliver on strategic priorities.
- Facilitates team integration, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing and a best-practices approach to execute a consistent and standardized approach to investment communications, thought leadership, and GPS priorities.
Global Platform and Technology integration
- Supports the introduction and implementation of innovative platforms / tools to enhance advisor and client experience, creates team capacity, and supports the transformation agenda.
- Ensures seamless integration of tools, systems and resources that support GPS /GIS, and improves efficiency across markets.
Stakeholder engagement
- Acts as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders in wealth management, ensures communication strategies align with business priorities.
- Stays informed about market trends and regulatory changes to proactively address advisor needs.
Education / Experience / Other Information
- Spanish fluency an asset
- 5-10 years of experience in global wealth management (Latin American experience considered an asset)
