Job Title: Procurement Support Specialist
Location: Gagetown, NB
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Wage: $20.00-$24.00/hour
The Procurement Support Specialist will assist in managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing administrative support for purchasing activities. This role is vital in ensuring timely acquisition of goods, services, and equipment to meet operational needs, all while maintaining budgetary constraints and adherence to DoD procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the procurement of goods and services ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
* Support the preparation and issuance of procurement requests, contracts, and purchase orders.
* Review and evaluate bids and proposals, ensuring they meet all specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
* Monitor procurement schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
* Assist in the management of contracts, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with terms and conditions.
* Maintain accurate and organized procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
* Provide administrative support for procurement activities, such as preparing reports, tracking expenditures, and assisting in budget management.
* Support procurement compliance audits and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
* Assist in preparing procurement-related documentation for audits, inspections, or reviews.
* Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
* Resolve procurement-related issues, including discrepancies with orders, contracts, or delivery delays.
* Participate in internal meetings to discuss procurement activities, performance, and potential improvements.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
* Previous experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a government or defense sector (preferred).
* Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to multitask and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage procurement challenges.
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
* Knowledge of federal procurement regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), is a plus.
