Queens Manor, a 61-bed long-term care facility located in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join its leadership team as Director of Resident Care. You will lead a team of care professionals who make a difference in the lives of the residents of Queens Manor. As an integral part of the senior leadership team, you will work closely with and be accountable to an Executive Director passionate about progress and committed to achieving the Board's vision of a long-term care facility that "adds life to years".
Responsibilities
The Director of Resident Care assumes the responsibility to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the Nursing Services of Queens Manor. The Director of Resident Care strives to provide the highest standard of care possible to the residents, consistent with the available resources and in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and policies of Queens Manor and current gerontological practice.
Queens Manor is excited to be moving into a new, state of the art 112-bed facility in 2026. The Director of Resident Care will have the exciting opportunity to play a key leading role in the planning, recruitment, policy/process development, and overall transition to our new home.
Qualifications
· A Registered Nurse in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
· Excellent verbal and written communicator
· Proven team player open to collaboration demonstrating a "growth mindset"
· A willingness to create solutions when faced with challenges
· Five years experience in long term care or acute care environment preferred but not necessary to apply and be considered
· Experience in leading, directing and inspiring others
· Demonstrated genuine interest and passion for the aging population within a "resident-centered" care philosophy
· Knowledge of collective agreements, human resources best practices and the management of unionized staff preferred but not necessary to apply and be considered
