Venor is proud to partner with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires N.B. & P.E.I. Division, Inc. in their search for a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

As the Commissionaires approach their 100th anniversary in 2025, this is a pivotal moment to lead a respected, not-for-profit organization with a powerful social mission-providing meaningful employment for veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, their families, and others dedicated to serving the security and well-being of Canadians.

With a strong foundation as the leading provider of physical security services in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, the Commissionaires are committed to diversity, excellence, and social impact.

Reporting to the Board of Governors, you will oversee the strategic plan, drive business development, and steer financial management of a $28 million budget, and 900 employees.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering on the social mandate by defining and executing the veteran strategy, establishing initiatives to recruit and retain military veterans, driving veteran support programs, and collaborating with veteran-focused organizations.
  • Identifying short and long-term strategies in collaboration with the Board to modernize the social mandate.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources, fiscal sustainability, and alignment with the organization's mission
  • Empowering and aligning the Senior Leadership Team in developing and maintaining an operational plan that achieves strategic goals and objectives.
  • Setting the strategic market direction by defining the long-term vision and strategic goals for business growth, guiding the company's trajectory, and providing a framework for business development initiatives.
  • Identifying strategic market opportunities by analyzing trends and external factors to uncover business opportunities (e.g., new sectors, geographic markets, or untapped customer segments) that align with the company's vision.
  • Building strategic partnerships at the executive level to identify competitive advantages and unlock new business avenues.
  • Overseeing the allocation of resources (financial, human, technological) to support business development efforts.
  • Creating an environment that fosters innovation, enabling the business development team to explore new ways to meet client needs, expand service offerings, and differentiate the company from competitors.
  • Advising and collaborating with the Board to ensure alignment with governance best practices.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Post-secondary education combined with at least 10 years of executive-level experience.
  • Understanding of the exigencies and unique challenges faced by military and RCMP communities; direct professional experience in these environments is a major asset.
  • Proven thought leadership with the ability to drive strategic initiatives, influence policy, and advocate for the needs of military and RCMP communities.
  • Proven strategic experience across the full planning cycle, demonstrating a strong track record of commitment and clear vision
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, board relations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Results oriented leader with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong ability to develop business relationships at the executive level.
  • Focus on growth, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Exceptional communicator with the confidence, conviction, and enthusiasm to inspire others.
  • Competence in both English and French is an asset.
  • Experience reporting to a Board of Directors is an asset.
  • Must be eligible for a Level 2 security clearance under Public Safety Canada's guidelines, with the ability to meet the Key Security Objectives (KSO) as part of the clearance process.
