As part of the Mactaquac Generating Station's Alkali Aggregate Reaction (AAR) Remedial Team, the Engineer I-IV will provide technical expertise in the installation, maintenance, testing, and measurement of core mechanical equipment affected by the AAR. You will lead readings and measurements of instrumentation and measuring points installed on the structures at the Mactaquac Generating Station to ensure accurate data entry and become the subject matter expert for the Station's instrumentation. Additionally, you will stay informed about the latest instrumentation technologies and develop business cases for instrumentation installations.
Key functions include:
- Providing engineering direction, troubleshooting, and design support to the maintenance departments as it relates to mitigating the mechanical effects of AAR.
- Reviewing the data from the various measurements and providing support and recommendations to help mitigate the effects of AAR, both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Continually monitoring the overall health of the core mechanical equipment to ensure it remains reliable and valid to support continued safe operation of the Mactaquac Generating Station.
Our ideal teammate will have:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Be registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer or Member in Training in the Province of New Brunswick
- Three years of experience in the design and engineering field which includes dealing with internal and external stakeholders on design projects and providing field support.
- Proven skills in technical writing and presenting complex data sets clearly and effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
