We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Compensation Department Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in collaborating with the sales team to enhance customer experience and support sales strategies across our three business lines. You will work closely with various business partners to manage hiring, compensation, and business needs, and participate in strategic and operational projects that impact contracts and sales force compensation. As a key liaison between internal departments and the compensation team, you will ensure continuous improvement of processes to support the growth of the sales force and maintain high service standards. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with laws and regulations, manage employees handling payroll for the Assumption Group, and supervise the team, service standards, and team development. - Develop and align the vision and work plans of the compensation teams to ensure a consistent and effective strategy.
- Actively participate in or supervise corporate projects impacting sales force compensation, ensuring their success and alignment with the company's objectives.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations by staying informed of legislative updates, adopting necessary changes, and providing expertise to resolve complex cases.
- Manage the compensation department, including employee management, setting annual objectives, evaluating performance, and supporting and developing professional growth.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French, both written and oral, while demonstrating tact and professionalism.
- University degree in business administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services sector or a related field.
- Experience in team management and the ability to inspire and motivate others is considered an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to adapt to changes and manage unforeseen circumstances.
- General knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding compensation.
