Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Design/ contribute to the design of learning and development programs, including instructional frameworks, content mapping, prototypes or drafts, narrative scripts and storyboards in various delivery methods
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business, HR and talent management objectives to enable a blended development approach via design/ development / delivery / maintenance of a wide variety of learning and development solutions, programs and tools
  • Recommend the most effective blend of instructor–led, hands–on, and web–based learning to be used in a given solution
  • Implement and successfully deliver multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity, ensuring regular updates to L&D databases/tracking tools
  • Ensure learner accessibility and principles of diversity and inclusion in designing a variety of learning solutions, leveraging established standards and templates where possible

SHAREHOLDER

  • Prioritize and manage own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert with both practical and technical expertise in all areas of instructional design and development for all learning approaches
  • Deliver effective, planned and consistent SME and stakeholder engagement and deliverables, including regular and effective SME communications and updates, whether virtual or in person
  • Ensure projects and learning solutions meet quality standards and achieve success criteria while managing scope, risks and stakeholder engagement, and problem resolution
  • Ensure all learning solutions include both an appropriate evaluation & measurement plan and an agreed maintenance plan to enable both program impact and currency
  • Provide subject matter expertise in design, including knowledge of external best practices, emerging trends, and vendors; maintains best practices in areas of design; stays current in learning consulting and program evaluation and measurement
  • Take an enterprise approach to design, development, learning consulting and evaluation; ensures common content and learning structures are leveraged consistently and to the greatest extent possible, supporting customization of design only where there is a validated business need
  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships
  • Act as a brand champion for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Support medium to high complexity businesses to enterprise wide initiatives
  • Expert level professional role requiring in-depth knowledge / expertise in own domain / field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas
  • Handle projects with a medium to high risk profile and medium complexity, which could include maintenance work
  • Act as a subject matter expert within their own area of specialty or a resource for others
  • Lead projects of moderate to complex enterprise wide risks and resource requirements; may lead end-to-end processes or functional programs
  • Use a balance of theoretical and practical methods to set standards and to contribute to new solutions and standards against which others will operate
  • Solve complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders
  • Typically reports to a Manager / Senior Manager

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Post graduate education in Adult Learning & Development preferred
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Certification in Instructional Technology/Human Performance Technology preferred
