JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Public Health manager for the zone, the successful candidate will coordinate the Health Promotion Program. Taking into account health determinants and social inequality, the successful candidate will analyze the nature of a health issue or problem and provide expert analysis and advice based on theory, evidence and experience as to how to manage the issue or problem through the right combination of health promotion strategies. The position involves organizational, community, and personal development, as well as strategy development and partnership building. The position also involves effectively communicating information relating to health and social and behavioral factors, with the aim of influencing community health. Furthermore, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the knowledge and skills of staff members. They will also take on the role of consultant and liaison officer with staff, and internal and external partners.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in public health, health promotion, or a related field (social sciences, humanities, etc.), and at least three years' experience in community development or bachelor's degree in humanities, social sciences, or health sciences, and at least five years' experience in community development;
- Commitment to complete Basic Life Support (BLS) training and maintain the certification;
- Computer skills and good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Ability to communicate advanced knowledge about health and its determinants;
- Ability to analyze complex issues regarding ways to ensure health and acquire healthy habits;
- Ability to think strategically and encourage strategic change through influence and leadership;
- Ability to support work methods based on proven effectiveness, theory and clear ethical principles;
- Ability to work diligently, using methods that foster the commitment and participation of individuals and the development and maintenance of a network of partners;
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relations through diplomacy and respect for others, persuasion and negotiation skills, the appreciation of diversity and the ability to build consensus;
- Valid driver's license;
- Good organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage both time and workload efficiently;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to take initiative and be creative, and to be self-motivated, positive and flexible;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
- Good work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
- Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.

- The selected person will need to travel and serve different commununities within the area and the province to meet operational needs.
