The Early Childhood Development Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the New Brunswick Child Care Curriculum.

The Role:
Reporting to the Early Childhood Services Branch and working with the Early Childhood teams in the school districts, the successful candidate will collaborate in the design, planning, facilitation and delivery of training to early learning childcare staff for preschool children.

What you will do:

  • Co-construct, plan and modify professional development workshops and learning modules individually, as a team and in collaboration with the Early Learning Specialist that align with the curriculum framework and based on observations and feedback from the sector.
  • Lead and support a collaborative approach for professional learning focused on enhancing reflective practice, advancing pedagogical leadership and building upon existing quality.
  • Provide access to resources, materials and on-site support to increase administrator and educator understanding of high-quality practices related to language-rich programs, inclusionary practices and responsive environments for young children.
  • Evaluate the implementation of the Curriculum éducatif pour la petite enfance francophone du Nouveau-Brunswickusing specific tools such as the Collaborative Assessment Tool. Communicate with and recommend compliance directives to the Quality Assurance Monitor, as appropriate.
  • Provide on-site coaching and mentoring based on individual facility needs and challenges in response to specific curriculum issues and to support the development of quality improvement plans focused on improving practices and understanding of Curriculum éducatif pour la petite enfance francophone du Nouveau-Brunswick.
  • Provide professional learning sessions and workshops tailored to needs of community-based initiatives and other early childhood programs and services currently under the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the districts.
  • Participate in joint initiatives within the School District to support positive transitions and learning experiences during the early childhood period, 0-8 years.
  • Promote the Curriculum éducatif pour la petite enfance francophone du Nouveau-Brunswickto a variety of audiencesto inform and increase public understanding.
  • Support inclusionary practices and implementation of inclusion policies.

Who you are:
You have a thorough knowledge of the early childhood sector and early childhood education centres. You have the ability to evaluate inclusive early childhood education practises with attention to detail and analyze results in order to intervene to reduce gaps. You are able to facilitate groups, virtually or face-to-face, and coach individuals. You have the ability to adapt quickly, provide high quality customer service and collaborate with other team members and partners. You are customer focused and able to operate within the values of the New Brunswick Public Service.

Wage:
Pay Band 4 - $57,616 - $80,574 annually.

Work environment:

  • Office location: North-West Region
  • Office layout: cubicles

  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30 p.m.; evening and weekend work required occasionally)
