Purpose
The GBM Business Architect plays a key role in supporting the GBM business by driving strategic business architecture aligned with GBM's strategy, as well as its data and technology objectives. Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Business, Data and Operational Initiatives, the role ensures alignment with the bank's governance framework, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements, while developing a forward-looking, holistic architectural roadmap for the "bank of the future." Most notably, this role must be forward looking and work closely with all business lines, not just GBM to develop a holistic architectural roadmap.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with functional and business line leadership to drive the "change the bank" approach, creating sustainable solutions for growth.
  • Partner with the GBM technology architecture team to evaluate and align strategic initiatives with business capabilities.
  • Develop the Business Architecture target state through the Business Capability Model (BCM) and support key strategic programs.
  • Focus on geographic consistency, streamlined business processes, and infrastructure improvements to reduce operational and regulatory risk.
  • Ensure alignment with all business lines, not just within GBM, to establish an integrated and scalable roadmap for future growth.
  • As a Business Architect you will be responsible for designing business capability models and providing architectural solutions for an organization.
  • You will create a link between a firm's IT architecture and business process management by aligning company goals with business operations. This role involves developing strategies and goals that guide the operation and management of a company, employing internal and external resources to determine the business capability/functionality of a firm, and producing results useful in developing business strategies.
  • Assessing the capacity of an organization to achieve its set objectives and goals, evaluating the assets and capability of a company to identify loopholes and limitations, and creating investment models that suggest suitable investment schemes for a firm to pursue considering available funding and objectives.
  • Measuring the effectiveness of a business strategy, determining the degree of strategy implementation, and the outcome of an implemented strategy.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years in a business architecture role, with additional project management and execution expertise being advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to drive strategy, transformation, and influence decision-making at senior levels within a global organization.
