Job Description:
The Wealth Management Support Finance team works closely with the Wealth National Office LOB, while also supporting the three revenue generating LOBs in Wealth (Direct Investing, Advice and Asset Management) and TDBG's centralized financial expertise (e.g., Chief Accountant's Group, Performance Management & Insights, Enterprise Strategy & Decision Support, Finance Operations, etc.) to provide quality expertise and advice to the Wealth Management business, including: business planning, financial analysis, measurement, valuation, and risk assessment, consistent with overall TDBG's financial strategy and objectives.
As part of TD Wealth Finance, the Wealth Management Support Finance team provides dedicated finance support to Wealth National Office and Head Office covering 1500+ employees. Key responsibilities of the team include:
Management reporting and forecasting/planning of expenses and analytics in support of the business partners
Project governance, business case support and analytics for Pan Wealth projects.
Monitoring and reporting on Pan Wealth expense management initiatives
Allocation of expenses (actual and forecast) and providing monthly/quarterly reporting and analytics to lines of business
The Senior Finance Analyst will report to the Senior Group Manager, Wealth Finance. The position is responsible for developing and providing financial support to the Wealth National Office and other support pillars, specifically in management reporting, planning and forecasting.
The successful candidate must have strong financial skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Familiarity with TDBG financial systems (specifically the mechanics of forecast/planning in Hyperion) is a strong asset, as is experience in the Wealth Management industry.
The role has a number of accountabilities which include, but are not limited to the following:
Participate in the developing annual Plan and quarterly forecasting with drivers-based analytics, insightful and relevant commentary
Be a leader in planning and forecasting by further building process excellence through ongoing process improvements and quality enhancements
Conduct analysis of forecast results and broader trends to provide a reasonable view of the future of the business with advice to improve decision making
Provide variance analysis in the monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting again Plan, forecast, prior year, prior quarter, etc.
Proactive in identifying issues, risks and opportunity and recommend actions to senior management
Provide value-added financial analysis and advisory support to business partners to develop and execute strategic plans and provide support on ad hoc requests for business analysis. This includes the preparation of presentation decks to senior management, financial analysis, and business cases, and conducting Finance presentations to business partners as required
Effective interaction with the various stakeholders; ensuring well communicated and achievable timelines; and ensure Enterprise submission deadlines are met
Be agile and problem solve in response to deviations to timelines and changing requirements
Develop and maintain relationships with business / finance partners and other stakeholders; Effective interaction with the various stakeholders to ensure accuracy and to minimize duplication
Develop financial planning models that easy to use, understand and analyze that are dynamic and able to handle ever changing business needs
Participate fully as a member of the Wealth Finance team, promote team effectiveness, and contribute to a positive work environment.
Exhibiting high degree of professionalism, passion for the business and
intellectual curiosity to drive continuous improvement in quality of deliverables and contribution of value-added analyses to Wealth Senior Management and Finance partners
Provide support and/or lead ad hoc projects as necessary
Requirements
University/College education with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business
Business and/or accounting designation (MBA/CFA/CMA/CGA/CA) would be an asset
Understanding of TD Wealth business would be an asset
Hyperion 11 SmartView, EPM, OAC, would be an asset
Proficiency and experience in MS Excel and PowerPoint
