In this role, you will :
- Develop, monitor and manage grant and foundation applications.
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies and other funding organizations in Quebec.
- Develop compelling grant proposals, applications and letters tailored to the specific requirements of each opportunity, working across multiple teams to gather applicable CRC information and data.
- Proactively cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential funding organizations and foundations recommended by Quebec donors.
- Develop a thorough understanding of CRC programs and maintain an up-to-date schedule of funding opportunities.
- Actively participate in the development of grant strategies based on CRC funding priorities in collaboration with the Associate Director and program members.
- Manage grant life cycle and internal workplans, ensuring funder deadlines are met and appropriate internal validations are completed.
- Ensure that detailed records of requests and interactions are maintained in Blackbaud CRM and SharePoint, and provide regular progress reports to their manager.
- Work with the national Foundation and Grants team to maintain the team's grant library.
- Support and actively participate in strategic files as required by the Vice President.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of grant and fundraising trends.
- Actively participate in the development of interim and final reports in coordination with program members, ensuring deadlines and requirements are met as per grant agreements.
- Effectively monitor and communicate updates on projects to funding organizations.
- Provide support to colleagues in the Foundation and Grants channel.
- Support and participate in fundraising calls related to domestic, national or international CRC responses.
- Where applicable, provide support for other philanthropic channels during calls or other emergency measures in Quebec.
- Regularly participate in national philanthropy team meetings by acting as advisor on fundraising strategies.
- Contribute to strategic planning, including the operational plan, to ensure that the national strategy aligns with Quebec's objectives.
What we are looking for :
- An undergraduate degree in a discipline relevant to the position (marketing, business administration, fundraising management) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years' experience in donation development with foundations and in various grant applications.
- Proven track record of delivering results through effective fundraising, grant application and proposal writing.
- Knowledge and understanding of donor relations principles.
- Proven database software skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs.
- Strong written and oral skills in French and English; fluency in other languages an asset.
- Knowledge of contractual issues related to funding contracts.
- Experience and commitment to excellence in supporting partners, volunteers and donors.
- In addition to demonstrating the CRC's four core competencies (team excellence, accountability, results focused and service excellence), the successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate work plans and maintain files for multiple concurrent projects;
- Autonomy, ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines with competing priorities;
- Expertise in MS Office and experience with Blackbaud CRM.
Working Conditions :
- This is a hybrid position based in Montreal, Quebec.
- This position is permanent full time and offers a flexible schedule.
- Domestic travail will be required.
- The incumbent must be available during local and international relief operations.
