Nutrition Services staff work in the patient, resident and retail food service setting. Reporting to the Food Operations Supervisor, Nutrition Services staff may be responsible for preparing and serving meals and supplies to patients, residents, staff, families and customers. Additionally, they are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing meal trays, dishes, related equipment, and workspaces. Nutrition Services staff support safe food handling procedures and provide overall service excellence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Food Preparation, Assembly and Service
Assemble, portion, and serve patient, resident, and visitor meals
Portion and assemble nourishments, beverages, and menu items
Accurately assemble meals trays as outline on the patient/resident tray ticket
Delivery and Collection
Delivery and distribution of meals to bedside
Delivery of nourishments and supplies (food and non-food)
Collection of soiled meal trays
Food Safety and Sanitation
Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, and work area
Maintain basic work area safety and sanitation
Practice proper hand hygiene, food storage cleanliness, cross-contamination prevention, etc.

Job Demands:

Constantly lifts and moves objects up to 10lbs and regularly pushes/pulls food products, supplies and trolleys up to 50lbs.
Regularly requires repetitive neck flexion, reaching, bilateral handling, body movements such as bending, kneeling and stretching.
Constantly requires standing and walking.
Constantly requires visual and auditory concentration and repetitive tasks, higher than normal levels of attentiveness and alertness for the health and safety of others.

Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate in their application/resume how they meet the following criteria:

Completion of High School is preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
Food Service experience is considered an asset
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to perform duties within expected timeframes and standards of accuracy
Ability to communicate effectively while demonstrating civility and respect
