The Autism Learning Partnership (ALP) is a branch of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. The ALP team is responsible for the creation, implementation, and management of various training initiatives such as content development, review, coordination, and facilitation of online training. It also bears the responsibility of providing support related to the accompaniment of learners with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), and complex behavioral needs. ALP also supports students receiving visual and auditory services (francophone education sector) and participates in the creation, implementation, and quality assurance of preschool autism program guidelines.

What you will do:
You will report to the Director of the Autism Learning Partnership and be responsible for organizing, directing, and providing the autism training framework; providing francophone schools and districts staff with support and advice regarding learners with ASD who have complex learning and behavioural needs, where necessary; and keeping up with current research on evidence-based practices for ASD and Applied Behaviour Analysis. You will work with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development team to ensure the continuous improvement of the service delivery model and training in relation to the use of evidence-based practices to support learners with ASD. This may also include providing support to preschool autism agencies personnel. The chosen candidate will occasionally need to travel to support staff and team initiatives across the province.

Required Competencies:

  • A Bachelor of Education degree as well as at least seven (7) years of related experience OR a master's degree in education, Applied Behaviour Analysis or psychology as well as at least six (6) years of related experience. Any candidate who is not certified as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) must be willing to complete the required courses and supervised experience to become certified within a specified timeframe.
  • Related experience can include working with children and youth with ASD as well as developing programs using evidence-based practices for ASD. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in French is essential, competence in written an oral English is necessary. Please state your language capability.

Wage:
Pay Band 7 - $91,832 - $111,124 annually.

Work environment:

  • Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton or Telework in New Brunswick.
  • Office layout: closed office
  • Your Team: Autism Learning Partnership (ALP) is made up of psychologists, teachers, behavioural analysts and members providing support services such as programming, graphic design, online registration, technical assistance, administration and management of the online learning platform. The team consists of approximately 15 professionals.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
