Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada, Inc. operating as SolveYourDebts.com is a registered non-profit organization providing credit counselling services to families and individuals. Our goal is to help people stay financially healthy through accredited credit counselling, budget mentoring and tailored financial education programs.
If you're looking to truly make a difference and help people get back on track financially, then this may be the right place for you. As a financial counsellor, you will work one-on-one with consumers to promote sound money management practices, budgeting skills and the responsible use of credit.
Responsibilities
- Conducting confidential financial reviews and diagnosing client needs while helping them to establish priorities, and providing them with a personalized budget, action plan and summary of financial position.
- Helping clients understand the root cause of their financial problems and addressing them in the most effective way possible.
- Developing and maintaining community contacts through networking and marketing activities.
- Helping clients resolve debts and improve their overall financial wellness through financial education, budget mentoring, money management and cost effective debt repayment strategies and solution.
- Facilitate and deliver financial literacy workshops/presentations.
- Must obtain Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada (AFCC) designation
Qualifications
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in both French and English
- Post-secondary education, degree or certificate is an asset
- Background in Finance/Banking; or related work experience
- Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada (AFCC) designation and/or Practical Course on Insolvency Counselling (PCIC) is an asset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organization, presentation and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
- Experience using virtual and social media platforms is an asset (Zoom, Facebook, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A drivers license with access to a vehicle
- Satisfactory criminal record and credit check
