Team Lead Financial Reporting

Our Corporate Finance team is currently seeking a high energy, results oriented individual with strong technical and analytical skills to lead the Financial Reporting team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, the Team Lead Financial Reporting ensures the provision of high quality consolidated reporting on a timely basis for the Finance team, Board of Directors, Government, External auditors and the Executive Leadership team.
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for managing the consolidated financial reporting process for Hydro and its subsidiaries. This includes the completion of annual and quarterly consolidated external financial statements, review of subsidiary financial statements, monthly internal reporting on budget to forecast and budget o actuals, preparation of reliable information to meet stakeholder needs and management of the year end audit. You will be expected to exhibit strong communication and organizational skills across the company, and the ability to analyze and aggregate information targeted to the user's needs. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of assigned functions to meet established deadlines and have the ability to apply their understanding of Hydro's various lines of business in order to validate results. These skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands are key success factors for this role.
Qualifications:
- A University Degree in business supplemented with a CPA designation.
- A minimum of five to seven years progressively responsible experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Highly organized and deadline driven, committed to delivering results.
- Practical experience in financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and problem solving ability.
- Excellent communications skills and an ability to create succinct, effective presentations to personnel at all levels of the organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
- External audit experience would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- General knowledge of the regulated utility, oil and gas, energy markets, or other capital intensive industry would be considered an asset
