Join Our Team as a Manager, Digital Payments at Atlantic Lottery!

As the Manager, Digital Payments, you will spearhead the evolution of Atlantic Lottery's digital payments ecosystem. Your mission is to provide the best payment options for our players, ensuring both integrity and cost efficiency.

In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with business and technical resources, as well as third-party stakeholders, to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our payment features. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and stability of our payment platforms, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for all players.

Responsibilities
  • Understand our Players and Market: Conduct market and competitive assessments to understand players and trends. Share findings with key stakeholders to influence action.
  • Thorough Understanding of Payment Landscape: Introduce effective payment methods based on demographics. Be the digital payment subject matter expert, familiar with both traditional and new payment trends. Understand the technical complexities of payment ecosystems.
  • Collaborate on Payment Issues: Work with payment service providers and internal teams to address payment-related issues. Manage impacts with players through internal communication.
  • Payment System Integrity: Ensure the integrity of payment services by working closely with payment service providers as well as investigating and troubleshooting issues with all stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and maintain effective cost management. Work with payment gateways to maintain and introduce payment methods.
  • Manage Payments Budget: Oversee the digital payments budget (>$5M), establish the annual budget, and manage projections and approvals.
  • Strategy, Research and Insights: Define a vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital payments in consultation with the greater Digital Channel management team. Conduct product research to inform roadmap and decisions.
  • Assess Business Value: Evaluate features, functionality, and business opportunities. Author business cases and provide input into project prioritization.
  • New Payment Method Onboarding: Act as Business Lead on payment projects, onboarding new payment methods. This includes supporting user acceptance testing for the Digital Payments initiatives.
  • Optimize: Monitor performance metrics to identify customer pain points and growth opportunities.
  • Conceive and Initiate (Product Discovery): Develop new product ideas aligned with strategy, pitch concepts internally, and keep roadmaps updated.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's and/or Diploma in Information Technology, preferred and/or Information Technology, Programming and Design.
  • 3+ years' experience in Digital Product Development and Management.
  • Experience integrating digital payment solutions/options into web and mobile assets.
  • Understanding of the digital payments landscape to set the organization up to adopt new forms of payment.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.
  • Must reside in Atlantic Canada.

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to turn conceptual features into strategic actions.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Negotiation of payment terms and fees with vendors.
  • Successful implementation of new technologies in digital world.
  • Knowledge of retail/lottery operations (helpful, not required).
  • Experience in the iGaming/real money gaming space (beneficial).
  • Tech-savvy with a passion for new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with key stakeholders with the ability to influence decisions.
  • Internal/external presentation skills.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative work style.
  • Quick learner for new markets and products.
  • Understanding of target audience needs and buyer priorities.
  • Strong work ethic in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Assets:

  • Experience in the gaming industry.

Salary Band: $90,300 - $135,450 - A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000 at the time of this posting. (Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training and internal equity).

Work Location:

Office or Hybrid option working from one our Atlantic Canadian Offices (Moncton, NB (preferred), Halifax, NS,)

Onboarding/Probation: Full-time in-office for the first 6 months, based in Moncton, NB preferred.

After Probation: You can choose to either continue working full-time in the office or switch to a hybrid model, coming into the office 2-3 times a week.
