The Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (OCHRO) at the Department of Finance and Treasury Board is seeking analytical, client service and results oriented individuals in the Total Compensation and Benefits branch to fill the position of Compensation and Classification Consultant.
The OCHRO is responsible for providing the strategic direction and the policy, program and accountability framework for the recruitment, compensation, development, safety, wellness, collective bargaining, benefit design and administration and management of the Government of New Brunswickâ??s (GNB) human resources.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Compensation and Classification Consultant will be part of a team of professionals responsible for:
- Facilitating / participating on, job evaluation committees for bargaining classifications.
- Facilitating / participating on, joint job evaluation studies with various bargaining agents in support of classification reviews and the implementation and maintenance of Pay Equity.
- Responding to classification inquiries and requests from departments outside of committee evaluation.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to the labour relation negotiators on all aspects of compensation and classification issues during the collective bargaining process as well as during the administration period of a collective agreement.
- Participating in non-bargaining classification committees and reviews.
- Responding to classification and compensation inquiries from other jurisdictions.
- Planning and delivering classification training.
- Preparing pay plans and interpreting compensation policies.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidates must possess:
Pay Band 3
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related degree.
Pay Band 4
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related degree with a minimum of 4 years of related work experience in the field of Human Resources.
Pay Band 5
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related degree with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in the field of Human Resources.
Pay Band 6
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related degree with a minimum of 6 years of related work experience in the field of Human Resources.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that possess:
- Certified Compensation Professional designation as provided through World at Work.
- Experience in Human Resources.

Salary :
PB 03 - $52,442 to $73,268 per annum
PB 04 - $57,616 to $80,574 per annum
PB 05 - $65,936 to $92,092 per annum
PB 06 - $76,622 to $101,920 per annum
