Located in Oromocto, New Brunswick, MRDC Operations Corporation is responsible for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the 195 km, 4-lane Fredericton-Moncton highway. MRDC's 30-year concession contract ends in 2028, at which time the highway will be turned over to the Province of New Brunswick.

Summary: Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager will provide overall direction for several rehabilitation projects and successfully take responsibility for overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality and project status. The role involves complete project life cycle, from developing scope of work, design management, tendering, cost control, and contract management of the projects. The Project Manager will work with Engineering consultants, MRDC project staff, internal company resources, and contractors to execute various construction projects. This will include projects involving highway signage replacement, rehabilitation of bridge structures, rehabilitation of drainage culverts, and rehabilitation of Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and oversee all aspects of the project to ensure a timely delivery within budget
· Develop, monitor and adjust critical path schedules to achieve project milestones. Implement processes, measures and standards that achieve productivity targets
· Monitor performance against the contract and execute corrective action when necessary to ensure compliance
· Develop the budget for various projects, manage contract costs including change orders, and update cost forecasts monthly
· Ensure projects are constructed to contract requirements and specifications. Address any issues with Engineering consultants and contractors
· Provide technical and functional direction, support to the project team
Requirements:
· 3-5 years of hands-on experience handling large highway, bridge, and municipal construction projects from concept to completion
· Civil Engineering degree or Civil Engineering Technology diploma with designation
· A professional certification such as PMP, civil engineering background and experience managing some DTI projects preferred
· Ability to communicate effectively, with superior writing skills
· Ability to interpret engineering construction drawings
· Exceptional people management skills
· Significant understanding of Provincial construction Safety Regulations and proven record of safe project execution
· Appreciation for a high level of quality standards is required
· Valid Class 5 License and clean driver's abstract.
