Fundy Trail Provincial Park is one of New Brunswick's crown jewels. Spanning 2,559 hectares along the southern coast, the park features a stunning 30 km parkway with breathtaking views of the world-renowned Bay of Fundy. Open seasonally from mid-May to mid-October, it offers visitors an unforgettable chance to connect with nature and history.
Fundy Trail Provincial Park is seeking a dynamic and motivated Park Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. This position is essential to managing the parks infrastructure to the highest standards. while ensuring the success of the park's operations to enhance the visitor experience and expand tourism opportunities across the region.
What you will do:
Reporting to the Assistant Park Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to lead the maintenance team and oversee grounds, building, and vehicle maintenance.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Supporting a diverse maintenance team
- Supervisory responsibilities which include recruitment, training, assigning work, scheduling, and performance management
- Working alongside maintenance team members to complete tasks
- Ensuring the smooth flow of grounds and building maintenance operations
- Promoting and enforcing health and safety regulations
- Obtaining quotes for materials and services
- Managing material resources, ensuring value for money, and controlling inventory of parts and supplies in accordance with financial procedures and approved budgets
- Overseeing the inventory of tools and equipment to ensure availability for on-site maintenance duties
- Performing other tasks as required or assigned
Who you are:
You are someone who is physically fit for tasks like landscaping and trash removal, with the technical skills to operate and maintain equipment and knowledge of safety regulations. You are detail-oriented, able to prioritize tasks, and work in various weather conditions. You have strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and time management skills, along with reliability and the ability to work independently or in a team. Most importantly, you take pride in maintaining the park's safety and appearance as a representative of Parks NB.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required competencies:
- Completion of grade 10 or equivalent education
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to have:
- Valid and up to date First Aid/CPR certification
- Effective Interactive Communication training
- Other related certifications

Wage:
$26.74 per hour
Work environment:
- Working up to 40 hours per week
