The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Specialist, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our Finance team in Sudbury, ON. This is an onsite position.
This is a permanent position, typically working a Monday to Friday dayshift schedule.
As a Specialist, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be the subject matter expert on financial operating plans, forecasts strategic plans and Life of Mine Plans. Your experience and skills will monitor, analyze, and provide high-quality and timely analysis of actual results against the plan/budget and forecasts. This role will also give insights for the Ontario and Base Metals leaders in the performance to make decisions for Ontario operations.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Ensure compliance with our cost model through reviews and audits
- Providing governance, tools and methodologies for financial evaluations used by the ON operations and finance teams at the plants
- Participate in strategic business planning process and foster a strong foundation of financial discipline and accountability
- Development, coordination, execution, analysis, and monitoring of Ontario margin/profitability per asset and Ontario purchase feed evaluations, including proposed process changes to make critical decisions affecting company profitability
- Development, coordination, execution, analysis, and monitoring of Ontario budget and forecast, including specific price, revenue, sales, and production volume, COGS and other expenses analysis
- Lead the finance discussions for Ontario quarterly analysis to market report focus on purchase feed and COGS reporting
About You
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or related field.
- Designated P. Eng or CPA.
Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years experience in similar field.
- Experience in reporting and analysis of data from a finance view.
Skills:
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization, including senior management
- Strong reporting skills with tools such as PowerBI
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial systems such as SAP
- Technical background in understanding production process
