UNB's Centre for Learning Futures supports innovative teaching and learning approaches through its Teaching and Transformative Learning unit across all modes of program and course delivery. The Centre for Learning Futures supports a variety of learning opportunities ranging from online academic programs and courses across a variety of disciplines to executive education, professional development and personal development opportunities. The Office of Experiential Education also operates within the Learning Futures Umbrella.

Salary Range: $51,924 - $67,489 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Director of Executive Education & Professional Development, the Career and Professional Development Program Manager is responsible for the management and operations of Career & Professional Development (CPD) programs. This position will assist with the development of educational programming for professional development (CPD) education needs and requirements, including the allocation of resources, management of budgets, achievement goals, and objectives.

  • Lead the overall management, administration, and learner support functions.
  • Manage all phases in the design and delivery cycle, ensuring that all stakeholders receive impeccable service.
  • Support programs in reaching goals of retention and outreach to grow registrations.
  • Conduct follow-up on students, tracking and reporting on progress; compiles data and reports findings to address process improvement and student support needs.
  • Facilitate communication and development of new curriculum by staying up-to-date on current best practices, trends, and assessing community needs.
  • Negotiate and design program schedules and manages instructor contracting process.
  • Manage budgets across all programs/offerings.
  • Act as the first point of contact and provides primary administrative, delivery logistical, and technical support to students, faculty, and clients.
  • Problem-solve and trouble-shoot difficult situations.
  • Work with Learning Future units to ensure financial systems and processes are accurate, timely, and efficient.
  • Maintain official student records and ensures transcripts are available to students with their CPD activity.
  • Maximize interaction with current students & organizations and provides supports as necessary.
  • Recruit, select, maintain good relationships, and provide support to instructors as required.
  • Provide instructional guidance, curriculum, methodologies, and/or tools to educators.
  • Attract new students & audiences through relevant programming and retain existing students and increases completion rates.
  • Manage student assessment tracking system.
  • Verify all professional development student completion records to ensure the accuracy of academic records, confirming that students meet all course program requirements.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Adult Education or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in adult education, program development/administration, project management, and business development.

Additional Strengths

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple objectives and deadlines with attention to detail and program-specific knowledge.
  • Highly effective communication skills & professional demeanor with multiple stakeholders, units within the university, and with external partners, suppliers, and resource agencies.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding of an entrepreneurial approach to continuing education.
  • High degree of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality in client relations.
  • Fluent with MS Suite and a demonstrated understanding of relational databases.
  • Ability to generate reports including program statistics and evaluation summaries.
  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise excellent judgment, and contribute to multiple teams with multiple objectives.
  • Excellent time management & interpersonal skills. Proven ability to prioritize and set objectives.
  • Strong empathy and perspective-taking skills.
  • Proven ability to work within budgets.
