Purpose

The Manager, Analytics supports the Senior Manager, Analytics with key strategic initiatives and reporting across all Wealth business lines including Total Wealth Planning, Advanced Planning Services, Scotia Wealth Insurance, ScotiaMcLeod, Private Investment Counsel, Private Banking and Scotiatrust. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and executing end-to-end delivery of projects by applying strong business acumen and communication skills along with sharing responsibilities to maintain routine reporting and ad-hoc requests.

Accountabilities
  • Manage the planning and execution of end-to-end delivery of projects & initiatives. Collaborate with various stakeholders including Financial Planning, Advanced Planning and Insurance to gather requirements and build interactive advanced analytics tools to support business needs.
  • Support partnership strategy by designing referral tracking processes, successful measurement tools and building dynamic KPI reporting.
  • Maintain and support the smooth functioning of the Total Wealth Analyzer for all Wealth business lines, including triaging with support teams and head office.
  • Responsible for leveraging client data to identify insights that will deepen client relationships and support the Total Wealth Strategy. Design and develop solutions for Scotia Wealth Management team primarily using Power BI.
  • Leveraging business data to identify opportunities, perform execution, provide reporting and post analysis in an accurate and timely fashion. Prepare dashboards and present findings to the leadership team.
  • Manage relationships with various internal teams across multiple business lines and external vendors to deliver routine and ad-hoc requests.
  • Contribute to the data modernization strategy and proactively promote automation to optimize existing reporting and processes.
  • Champion a client focused culture throughout their team and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience

  • University degree in Statistic, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Management or Computer Science is preferred
  • Experience working in the wealth management or financial services sector would be an asset
  • Deep understanding of all Scotia Wealth Management business lines would be an asset
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and ability to deal with all levels of management
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization, automation & CRM tools including but not limited to- Power BI, Salesforce.
  • Excellent strategic and problem-solving skills to analyze issues and problems and provide recommendations
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex data and be able to conclude meaningful insights.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, results-oriented and can work under pressure, work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and member
  • Hands-on experience in big data technologies (Hive/Beeline), DB2, SQL Server, Python
  • Knowledge of MinIO Data Storage, Airflow, Trino, Alteryx is an asset
  • Experience using BitBucket and Confluence
  • Knowledge of Cloud platforms (GCP) is an asset

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
