Job SummaryThis is an advanced respiratory therapy position in the field of hyperbaric medicine. The position is to perform the clinical and technical aspects of multi-place and mono-place hyperbaric delivery systems, including but not limited to control panel operation and inside tender for patient care.
This position reports to the Division Manager, Critical Care, and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Respiratory Therapy for professional integrity and practice issues.

Constantly moves/lifts up to 10 lbs, regularly moves/lifts up to 25 lbs. and occasionally is required to reposition/move up to 30 lbs. Pushes/pulls up to medium force.
Constantly walks/stands with occasional fast pace/run; works in awkward positions to perform/assist with procedures.
Constantly uses fine finger/precision, auditory, sensory, and visual concentration to provide clinical interventions, assess/monitor patients, to complete documentation, etc.
May be subject to time pressures/deadlines and subject to lack of control over work pace.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy is required.
A minimum of three years experience within the last five working as a Respiratory Therapist in an Acute Care setting is required.
Proof of current registration with the NL Council of Health Professionals is required.
Certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
*The successful applicant must be willing to complete at the first available opportunity Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) in-house as determined by the employer.
If there are no internal or external applicants that demonstrate the required qualifications, consideration may be given to an applicant who has clinical work experience in undersea, hyperbaric medicine or aviation medicine technology as a Respiratory Therapist and is willing to become Certified as a Hyperbaric Technologist. Financial support maybe available to help offset the costs. The Certification must be completed within 18 months of commencing the position.
