JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Administrative Assistant Director of Nursing Professional Practice and Clinical Services, the Non-clinical Manager of Staffing Offices and Float Teams organizes, coordinates and supervises the non-clinical activities of the staffing office and float teams (aides, attendants, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses and/or agency staff, as well as unit clerks, receptionists and non-clinical coordinators). They ensure the provision of quality services by maintaining smooth operations and ensuring optimal and healthy management of human resources, financial resources, internal information and communications. The successful candidate will also manage files relating to the strategic and operational plan of clinical learning programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate university degree in administration or any other combination of relevant training and experience deemed equivalent;
  • Knowledge of analytical measurement tools;
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years' experience in human resources management (preferably in a unionized environment) or health services management;
  • Very good knowledge of computer tools and office software, and ability to use them appropriately (Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook);
  • Excellent knowledge of the hospital system, its administration and its legal framework;
  • Experience with management tools aimed at improving quality and process efficiency (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma) is an asset;
  • Adherence to the management philosophy, code of organizational values, and professional ethics principles;
  • Strong management abilities including the following: program planning, development and evaluation; conflict resolution; human, physical and financial resources management; and problem-solving and analysis;
  • Demonstrated ability to use evidence in decision-making;
  • Ability to form productive partnerships and recognize partners;
  • Strong sense of responsibility and demonstrated ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities;
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks assigned;
  • Excellent coaching skills;

  • Commitment to change with the ability to manage it with a positive attitude;
  • Interpersonal skills promoting a climate that is conducive to welcoming clients, to concern for clients, and to effective communication;
  • Proficiency in oral and written French and English;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance).
