The team:
Scotiabank's Global Technology Services (GTS), IT Asset Management (ITAM) team is responsible for the management of technology assets, which includes optimizing the value and cost of technology assets while mitigating the risks these assets present to the organization throughout their life. This is done by establishing an effective technology life cycle that spans from technology asset selection, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, all the way through the retirement and disposal of the asset.
The role:
Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will contribute to the overall success of the Software Asset Management (SAM) team by ensuring the SAM goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the overall organization strategies and objectives. You will also ensure all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
In terms of size, scope & complexity:

Majority of the critical vendor products will span global footprint, with a focus on Infrastructure and Data Center environments.

Ensuring asset management activities are in compliance with regulations & controls.
In this role, when required, you are expected to work extended hours to ensure project deliverables are completed on time.

You are adept in utilizing ServiceNow to maintain a comprehensive global view of all software entitlements with software models and ensure accurate discovery data normalization, compliance & optimization.

You are highly efficient in evaluating software asset usage, reclaiming inactive licenses, and prioritizing the allocation of shelf licenses before considering new acquisitions.

It's in your DNA to understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

You are comfortable working with our counterparts in LATAM and possess fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) to effectively communicate and collaborate.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

You possess excellent communication (verbal/written) skills to effectively convey qualitative & quantitative information to both technical and non-technical audiences. The same in Spanish is required.

You have at least 3+ years of professional working experience with the ServiceNow® product, and in particular, an advanced user of ServiceNow® Software Asset Management Professional (SAMPRO).

You have at least 5+ years of professional working experience with Software Asset Management at or for large organization(s) numbering 10,000+ employees.

You have at least 3+ years of professional working experience on managing software licensing agreements and compliance, including interpreting licensing terms and conditions, conducting audits, renewals, and negotiations.

You are highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel to create/modify pivot tables; create dashboards; clean data; working with large data sets & occasionally consolidating data from multiple sources.

You are also proficient with infrastructure software; having experience managing large, complex infrastructure vendors like IBM, Microsoft, VMWare & Oracle.

You are familiar with ServiceNow® Discovery Tools & the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

You have exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.

You can adapt to working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

You must have attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

You have completed a post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or in a related field.

Completion of International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM) Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) is an asset.
