Position Scope:
This position reports to the Orchard Development Supervisor. The Orchard Lead Hand is responsible for carrying out and implementing a spray program including mixing chemicals and organizing sprayer operators, assisting in implementation of food safety program, and leading the orchard crews on seasonal tasks, including but not limited to:
- Tree training
- Tree planting
- Trellis building
- Fruit thinning
- Crop harvesting
- Coordinate and supervise general farm workers.
- Monitor and report maintenance and repair issues to mechanics.
- Organize the daily work plan.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisor role would be considered an asset.
- Pesticide license is a requirement; however, on-the-job training can be provided.
- Valid driver's license is a requirement.
- Experience operating various equipment (e.g., forklift, tractor, general farm equipment).
- Experience in an apple orchard would be considered an asset.
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.

- Ability to be at ease with utilizing and adapting to advanced technology in the workplace.
- Must be physically able to lift 50lbs.
