Position Scope:

This position reports to the Orchard Development Supervisor. The Orchard Lead Hand is responsible for carrying out and implementing a spray program including mixing chemicals and organizing sprayer operators, assisting in implementation of food safety program, and leading the orchard crews on seasonal tasks, including but not limited to:

• Tree training
• Tree planting
• Trellis building
• Fruit thinning
• Crop harvesting
• Coordinate and supervise general farm workers.
• Monitor and report maintenance and repair issues to mechanics.
• Organize the daily work plan.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience in a supervisor role would be considered an asset.
• Pesticide license is a requirement; however, on-the-job training can be provided.
• Valid driver's license is a requirement.
• Experience operating various equipment (e.g., forklift, tractor, general farm equipment).
• Experience in an apple orchard would be considered an asset.
• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.

• Must be physically able to lift 50lbs.
