The Team:

The Medical Authorization Centre (MAC) Pharmacy is responsible for making decisions concerning health needs for products that require authorization. In this role you will service various contracts and work as a member of an overall medical professional team.

The primary goal of this unit is to provide positive health care outcomes through on-line case assessment using computer technology.

Work location can be remote from home, and the hours of operation for this team range from Monday to Friday 7:45am to 5:00pm Atlantic Time (AT).
We work a 7.5 hour workday, a 37.5 hour work week: No overnight, No weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Make decisions concerning clients' health needs for products that require authorization

• Administer process for special authorization decisions through the interactive use of telecommunications and applied on-line POS technology

• Utilize your medical background, knowledge and experience to render decisions

• Liaison with the customers and other health care professionals to ensure treatment requests are appropriately administered

• Provide a positive and efficient customer service experience for providers and clients

• Support positive health care outcomes through on-line case assessment using computer technology

Qualifications:

Education: Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License

Work Experience :

-Have a minimum of 5 years nursing experience, including knowledge of medical conditions in relationship to pharmaceutical treatment

-Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills

-Multi-tasker and thrive in a fast-paced environment

-Superior verbal communication skills

Computer Skills: possess strong computer skills or aptitude

Language Skills: Bilingualism ( English and French ) is required
