Purpose:
Contributes to the overall success of the Global Wholesale Operations (GWO) risk and control strategy through driving and implementation of enterprise policies, standards, methodology and control initiatives for proactive operational risk management. The Operational Risk and Control function forms part of Global Regulatory Operations & Internal Control (GROIC) with a core focus of continuously strengthening risk culture and internal controls by reviewing and enhancing operating procedures and practices.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Supports the Operational Risk and Control framework for GWO, providing support for various GWO utilities through:
o Planning and Execution of Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs)
o Reporting of Operational Risk Events (OREs)
o Reporting and tracking of issues resulting from Audits, Operational Risk Events, RCSAs, regulatory, etc.
o Prepare reporting for various management forums, committees, or ad hoc requests as they arise
o Advises GWO utilities on operational risk related matters to ensure adherence to the Bank's Operational Risk Management framework.
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Knowledge of general enterprise risk policies, standards and methodology and how that apply and can be effectively operationalized in GWO.
• Support the execution of initiatives with internal GWO stakeholders to mitigate risks through assessment of control design and operating effectiveness with minimal guidance from line manager.
• Support builds out of key control library for conformance and control testing across utilities/regions.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong experience in developing executive level presentations
• Knowledge and experience with SharePoint, Power BI or other reporting and analytics tools preferred.
• Ability to apply a sound knowledge of general operational risk management practices and principals.
• A good understanding of back-office functions / services provided by Global Wholesale Operations in support of the Bank's capital markets and wholesale banking business.
• At least 3 years' experience in a related control function within Operations, Operational Risk, Finance or Internal Audit.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate concepts and requirements to key stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and diplomatically in a team environment with peers and superiors across organizational lines.
Work Arrangement:
This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
