Resourcing costs are the largest area of spend within the technology budget and a key area of focus as we invest in the future. The increased focus on resource deployment, resource mix and productivity improvement has created a unique opportunity to reshape our finance process to support a step-change improvement in the financial management of resourcing costs within the technology budget. The successful candidate will work with HR, finance and Technology to ensure the transformation is aligned with the Bank's strategic direction while sustaining the high-quality day-to-day operations of the team.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Drives transformation of Technology's staffing processes through critical thinking while exploring opportunities for automation
  • Contribute to an environment in which the team works together to produce creative and value-added strategic analysis and insight while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls
  • Provides thorough, accurate and insightful analysis for Statutory Forecasting and Planning and Financial Reporting
  • Acts as trusted finance partner for Technology; providing financial guidance to Technology partners and other finance teams, identifying and communicating financial-related issues (e.g. actual/committed vs. budget/forecast) to improve resourcing related decision-making
  • Communication and enhancement of proper hiring procedures with Technology and finance and provides support for staffing and contractor financial reporting issues
  • Collaborate with Technology leads and HR partners to track headcount movements through organizational changes and associated financial impact resulting from the changes
  • Oversees the tracking, reporting, and analysis of Technology staffing movements and approved changes relating to transfers, contractor conversions, etc.
  • Provides accurate and timely management, control, planning & forecasting of staffing and related operating expenditures
  • Manage team of 2 direct staff fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; managing succession and development planning for the team, and demonstrate superior relationship building to create effective support across the Bank
  • Contributes to the maintenance of strong financial governance through implementing best practices. Supports audit requests and the communication of financial policies, guidelines and Bank practices

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field with either professional designation (e.g. CPA, CFA) or graduate degree (e.g. MBA)
  • 5-10 years of work experience in Finance or Accounting role
  • Experience with process engineering and transformation (preferred)
  • Experience dealing with cross functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, thorough understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
