Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services - Western zone currently requires a Regional Manager of Pharmacy Services on a permanent full-time basis at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.

DUTIES: Reporting to the Zone Director of Pharmacy, this position is responsible for management and operational leadership of Pharmacy Services throughout the Western zone. The manager is responsible for the efficient and effective use of resources, as well as, the quality of services provided. . This position is also accountable for:
• Providing leadership, direction and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of medication safety policies and Accreditation Canada medication standards throughout the Western zone
• Participation in pharmacy and interdisciplinary committees
• Responsible and accountable for the planning and management of patient-centered pharmaceutical care services designed for their assigned regional clinical programs and administrative responsibilities as assigned
• Financial management including budgeting
• Participation in the development, implementation and evaluation of Pharmacy Services strategic directions and objectives
• Human Resources management including performance review and attendance management
• Responsible for the development and oversight of quality assurance programs regionally for Pharmacy Services (eg. equipment, product testing, clean room testing.)
• Responsible for establishing core competencies and oversight of training for Pharmacy staff (, hazardous medication training, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Candidates must have proven ability to supervise, support and guide staff and have the ability to work independently and exercise considerable judgment and initiative in performing duties. Candidates must be able to successfully complete the management course or willingness to complete (within timeframe of designated by employer).

Graduation from an approved School of Pharmacy and licensure with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPNL) is preferred. Educational requirements may also include a baccalaureate prepared graduate of a health care related discipline. A Master's degree in the applicable area is an asset. Registration as a healthcare professional within Newfoundland and Labrador is required. A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a health care setting. A minimum of one (1) year management experience and two (2) years leadership experience within the last five (5) years is also required. Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in an Acute Care setting and previous hospital pharmacy experience would be considered an asset.

Alternate combinations of qualifications may be considered.

**A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
