The Student International Welcome Centre is the first point of contact for all families and students arriving from outside of our School District (Anglophone East School District ASD-E). Our team of dedicated Student Welcome Centre professionals are looking to grow and expand our supports over the summer months.
As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive environment for campers who are current and future Anglophone East Students. We hope their summer camp experience will help them confidently transition to the new school year. The summer will be filled with fun, learning and above all a memorable summer experience.

Employment Type: Temporary Contract (Tentative dates of May 12 to August 22)
Hours: 32.5 Hours a week, Monday to Friday
Rate of Pay: $25/hour

Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Summer Camp Programming: Facilitate games, activities and discussions that encourage campers to develop their language skills, self- confidence, and new school community.
- Cultural Exchange: Foster a multicultural and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging campers to share their cultural backgrounds and language experiences.
- Supervision and Support: Provide guidance, support, and supervision to campers throughout daily activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable camp experience.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other counselors and camp staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment. Let your own unique talents, experiences, and skills shine through.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with campers, parents, and fellow staff members to address any concerns and keep everyone informed about camp activities.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (Fluency in other languages would be considered an asset)
- Previous camp counseling or youth development experience (coaching/childcare/etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent facilitation skills
- Cultural sensitivity and a passion for promoting cross-cultural understanding.
- Currently enrolled in Post-Secondary (Studies in Education, Social Work, Communications would be considered assets).
