Who we are

We invite you to join the Mount Carleton Provincial Park Team! Mount Carleton is one of the largest natural sites in New Brunswick, located in the north-west of New Brunswick.

A picturesque blend of Acadian forests and mountain peaks, Mount Carleton contains over 17, 000 hectares of wilderness waiting for today's explorers.

A provincial park since 1970, containing the highest peak in the Maritimes, a part of the Appalachian Mountains, including hiking trails, camping, fishing, and a designated Dark Sky Preserve are all part of what awaits you.

What you will do

Reporting to the Park Manager of Mount Carleton Provincial Park, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and constructing exterior or interior wooden structures and furniture as well as the following key activities:

  • Building, repairing, or installing windows, doors, ceilings, cabinets, furniture, ramps, steps, finish floors, wooden decks, pallets, etc.
  • Building cement forms in order to pour concrete
  • Building and maintaining greenhouses
  • Operating and repairing power tools
  • Replacing locks and keys
  • Painting
  • Performing minor plumbing repairs
  • Making estimates and keeping records
  • Performing related work as required

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and rugged terrains
  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays, shifts and variable hours
  • We promote a scent-reduced environment

Who you are

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in the carpentry trade
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence in English or French is required. Please state your language capabilities.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures

Wage

$23.72 per hour
