Your Contribution
As a Director of Environment, you will work in collaboration with the Environmental Team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Perform operations management of the GTA Environmental division to achieve corporate objectives;
- Ensure the efficiency of the GTA Environmental division with emphasis on quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability of projects, as well as management of human resources including employee engagement and utilization;
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety program;
- Actively participate in meetings of the Operation Centre and communicate to the service team leaders and project managers the objectives and challenges set by the company, the business unit and the Operation Centre;
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring;
- Ensure close collaboration and cooperation between the Environment and other regional groups;
- Help manage the training plans and career development of employees;
- Develop budget guidelines of the division for the fiscal year and review the financial activities of the division according to the budget;
- Represent the company during meetings with clients and the various internal teams, in a multidisciplinary project context;
- Manage own portfolio of projects;
- Act as a senior professional in various projects;
- Actively participate in Employee Experience programs with the Human Resources Department including performance management, succession planning, etc.;
- Actively engage in the organization and tracking of major projects in the division;
- Analyze project planning, optimal use of resources, and the identification of talent acquisition in collaboration with the team leaders and project managers;
- Plan, assign, coordinate and supervise work, projects and activities performed by the Environment team. Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set-up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations;
- Oversee client satisfaction and the establishment of long-term relationships;
- Promote and develop the local market to increase the business base in the area under your responsibility; and
- Support the business development team in efforts to increase market share on a local and national level.
Your Profile
- University Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geosciences or a related field;
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in major technical and project management functions and business development;
- Experience in engineering consulting and deep understanding of the environmental consulting field;
- Qualified Person (QP) within Ontario under O.Reg. 153/04;
- Experience in a management role, leadership, autonomy and ability to establish, maintain and promote positive working relations;
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills;
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain federal/provincial security clearance required; and
- Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
