CONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate Six and Half (6.5) Months

JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Storekeeper II is to carry out all tasks and duties as directed and coordinated by the First Engineer and Chief Officer.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 Year Experience as a Storekeeper
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Storekeeper II's overall responsibilities/duties are, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Follow up the daily logistic activities between the Vessel and Client specific shore base functions including preparations of Cargo manifest for return goods.
  • Familiarise themselves with the current data based inventory system. Receive and register all goods, spare parts and consumables; check this against the manifest to verify the complete consignment is received in good order. Any shortage or damage shall be immediately reported.
  • Familiarise themselves with new spare parts according to SFI code system with prices and holdings on board based on critically and lead-time.
  • Maintain regular inventory checks to ensure there is at least the minimum of spare parts and consumables in stock, which is listed in the system.
  • Maintain their working area clean, tidy and in good condition to prevent safety hazards.
  • Monitor return of goods sent ashore
  • To be a part of the category management program if required
  • The Storekeeper II shall control the incoming/outgoing chemicals. The Storekeeper II shall ensure that correct Safety Data Sheets and Risk Assessment corresponds to the onboard holdings.
  • The responsibilities also include reporting as required by the FIMS
  • They are to follow the ISPS tasks given by the SSO
  • The Storekeeper II is to report all accidents, near misses, non-conformances and safety/security to their superior. Be safety conscious in all their work and use the compulsory protective equipment.
  • Specific emergency duties may be stated on the Muster List or set out in the Emergency Response Manual.
  • They are to carry out any lawful command as requested by the Shipboard Management.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
