What you will do:
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking a Learning Specialist for English Language Arts K-5 to join the Anglophone Educational Services Division, Learning and Achievement Branch. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Achievement for K-8, you will support the current Building Blocks of Reading initiative for K-5, as well as other curricular areas as needed. A large portion of the portfolio will involve supporting K-5 English Language Arts and Explore Your World implementation, as well as Academic Support Teacher data collection and analysis. You will also:
- Review and further develop the curriculum, teacher resources, and Academic Support Teacher (AST) resources.
- Support data collection plans.
- Collaborate with curriculum learning specialists, districts, ESS, and Assessment and Analysis on the development of resources for professional learning.
- Endorse and support curriculum products and services, develop briefing notes, communicate impact data to formal government, and support provincial community of practice for instructional leaders of English Language Arts.

Required essentials:
- Master's degree in Education, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of teaching experience at the K-5 level.
- An equivalentcombination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Leadership Experience
- Project Management Experience
- Strong written communication skills
- Specialized Subject Matter Expertise and Knowledge
- Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Wage:
Pay Band 7 - $90,480 to $109,486 annually
Work environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
