As part of the Financial Planning & Analysis transformation team, the Director, Anaplan Centre of Excellence (COE), will lead the team responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of Anaplan solutions within the organization. This role involves collaborating with various business units to ensure that Anaplan models are effectively designed, built, and maintained to meet business needs. The COE lead will also provide guidance and best practices to ensure the successful adoption and utilization of Anaplan across the organization. The Director contributes to the overall success of Global Finance in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and lead the Anaplan Centre of Excellence, building the team that will deliver on the technical & functional development of Anaplan planning models and the sustainment of the solution
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure changing business needs are addressed ensuring that Anaplan solutions are aligned to strategy.
- Support VP FP&A Transformation in driving transformation and innovation in the planning process.
Solution Design and Implementation
- Oversee the development/configuration, testing, and implementation of scalable Anaplan models and solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex Excel models into dynamic, connected Anaplan models.
- Guide the development of documented business requirements and processes to create functional specifications
- Serve as the architectural SME for our connected planning solutions.
- Lead UX design, understanding user needs and ensuring design standards are implemented to drive efficient and effective use of the solutions
- Guide the optimization and enhancement of existing Anaplan models to improve efficiency and functionality.
- Direct the creation and maintenance of comprehensive reporting and analysis dashboards for various user groups.
- Lead new Anaplan implementations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
System Management and Continuous Improvement:
- Oversee the configuration and maintenance of Anaplan lists, modules, dashboards, actions, and other model settings.
- Oversee root cause analyses and develop solutions to address system issues and improve performance.
- Continuously evaluate and improve COE processes and methodologies.
- Stay current with Anaplan platform updates, new features, and industry trends ensuring the Bank leverages the full capabilities of the platform.
- Manage the Anaplan requirements backlog, system architecture, access management, configuration, and integration.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills of Anaplan users and ensure effective use of the platform.
- Maintain an up-to-date repository of all documentation
- Develop and manage process to provide user and system support
- Ensure delivery of standardized delivery playbook
Team Development & Management
- Build a team of highly effective Anaplan model builders that stay current with Anaplan tools and capabilities
- Implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy, and managing succession and development planning.
- Establish a collaborative working relationship with key stakeholders to gather feedback and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a project roadmap, timeline, and resourcing plan
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Anaplan (Certified Master Anaplanner or Certified Solution Archichtet.
- Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in gathering, understanding, and actioning business requirements.
- Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
- Exceptional planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, and with external vendors.
- Exceptional presentation and written communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a formal agile or hybrid agile system implementation methodology – requirements gathering, design, build/testing, and deployment.
- Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques
