SRS Managers (Canada) Limited, a fast-growing privately-owned insurance services company, is currently seeking a Treasury Specialist for our Halifax office to provide superb Treasury and Cash Management Services to our colleagues in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.

SRS provides consulting, accounting, and management services to insurance companies, predominantly those licensed as captive insurance companies, in Canada, the US, Barbados, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Europe with a staff of 400+ employees and expects to continue to grow and expand domestically and abroad.

Responsibilities and Duties

For a portfolio of insurance companies:

  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the client service team through the cash management of a portfolio of insurance and reinsurance companies.
  • Overall responsibility for maintaining master client banking and investment account listing.
  • Accounts payable, online cash management and related banking functions.
  • Provide assistance, as required, to support corporate payments and processes.
  • Assist with advising all relevant financial institutions of signatory changes on a periodic basis.
  • Work within automated workflow processes to improve overall treasury throughput and operational efficiency.
  • Work with international banking institutions on payment queries and processes.
  • Assist with the opening of new corporate bank, trust and investment accounts.
  • Provide coverage and cross-training for similar duties performed by colleagues within the treasury and cash management team.
  • Due to the nature and timing of the work, there is an expectation that some overtime will be required during periods with higher than usual payment volumes.
  • Perform other project and treasury related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Attributes and Skills

  • University degree or diploma with a concentration in Business and/or Accounting;
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a Financial Services or a similar role;
  • Experience in banking and with online payment platforms considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365: including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams;
  • Knowledge of Custody, FX and Subscription and Redemption processes considered an asset;
  • Superb organizational skills with a demonstrated focus on Accuracy of the data;
  • Ability to work remotely with teams located across multiple time zones;
  • A detail-oriented individual with strong Analytical Skills who is comfortable with routinely shifting demands;
  • Must be a self-starter and driven to succeed;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to communicate through multiple mediums and build lasting relationships with all levels of employees in multiple jurisdictions;
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment;
  • Ability to meet deadlines, achieve objectives and work well under pressure;
  • Ability to quickly grasp essential issues, analyze alternatives and recommend appropriate solutions;
  • Willingness to take on additional projects and assignments as required.
