Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Supply Chain Branch within the Health Services Division as a casual Supplies Services Supervisor at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the staff, as well as responsibility for supply related duties.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising employees and assigning work in the receipt, storage, and dispatch of supplies.
  • Assessing, prioritizing, coordinating, and checking work of employees.
  • Participating in performance appraisals and the interview process.
  • Recording inventory transactions and maintaining an inventory control system.
  • Participating in inventory counts and replenishing supplies.
  • Sorting and rotating shelves and supplies receiving.
  • Unpacking, sorting, and dealing with vendors and other clients.
  • Preparing and tracking shipments such as late deliveries, back-orders, lost shipments.
  • Coordinating deliveries of supplies to various departments and facilities.
  • Participating in the receipt, storage, and dispatch of inventory and non-inventory supplies, equipment, and furniture.
  • Assembling and packing supplies.
  • Loading and unloading delivery trucks.
  • Using a pallet truck and forklift, transporting dangerous goods, narcotics, controlled and perishable substances.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area and organizing the arrangement of stores.
  • Providing technical advice and acting as resource for special events (ex. pandemic flu epidemic and disaster planning).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from high school or GED, and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience, which must include some supervisory experience. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some travel within the province may be required, therefore candidates must possess a valid New Brunswick driver's license.
  • This position may occasionally require extended work hours.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
