Clinical Director for Medicine & Neuroscience to join our team!

JOB PURPOSE:

The system of Clinical Program Management (CPM) is the method chosen by the Horizon Health Network to integrate clinical management responsibilities to improve Healthcare delivery.

The Clinical Director will work in partnership with the Clinical Department Heads, and Program Medical Directors across Horizon to provide overall responsibility and accountability for the delivery of services within allocated resources.

The Clinical Director will lead and facilitate the delivery of quality care in close collaboration with the applicable Horizon Clinical Networks/Programs.

The Clinical Director will represent these Programs on committees and activities, locally, regionally, and provincially as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Masters level preparation in Health or Business Administration linked to a clinical
  • Demonstrates considerable progressive administrative and management experience in the healthcare field,
  • Commitment to a patient and family-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in mentoring, leading, facilitating, team building, negotiation, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, budgeting, information analysis and reporting.
  • Good health and work record.
  • Ability to establish program priorities, and deal with matters of confidentiality and/or sensitivity requiring maturity, diplomacy, discipline, and tact.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.
  • Written and spoken competence in English required

Other Essential Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Willing and able to travel throughout the province. Must have a valid NB driver's license. Travel throughout Horizon Health Network is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop program goals and objectives and program operational plans consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of Horizon Health Network.
  • Ensure the quality of program delivery by developing, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement processes.
  • Establish program policies and procedures and assist with the development of regional Policies.
  • Liaise with regionalized departments to obtain the necessary support services for the program(s).
  • Establish and maintain effective, consistent communication with the program, and with all internal and external partners.
  • Monitor and report on monthly budget variances, and establish a plan to address Challenges.
  • Promote a milieu conducive to open communication, a positive attitude, and optimum team member development.
  • Ensure mechanisms are in place within the programs for promptly addressing patient and family comments, questions, and concerns.
  • Measure and evaluate program effectiveness, and patient outcomes.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS:

  • Ensure standards of care are maintained.
  • Actively leads/participates as required within the Regional Programs/Networks of Horizon Health Network and other committees established where participation is desired.
  • Works with the Medicine & Neurosciences Clinical Director Group and the Clinical Program Executive Director, to ensure collaboration and patient continuity of care across all program areas is maintained and enhanced.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • The Clinical Director is directly accountable to the Clinical Program Executive Director, Medicine and Neurosciences for daily clinical operations and through this reporting structure, to the Vice-President of Clinical Services for Horizon Health Network.
  • The Clinical Director will maintain an ongoing collaborative relationship with the various Horizon Clinical Heads, Medical Directors, DOH, Vitalité, and all other provincial stakeholders, including community stakeholders.

SPECIFIC HORIZON HEALTH NETWORK RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assumes regular responsibility for Administrator On-Call as per established schedule.

NOTE: The above responsibilities are the basic and prime duties; related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary for the operation of the programs.
