What you will do

The Project Management Office is accountable for providing leadership and direction for all transportation major capital projects. The activities cover a broad range of subjects related to bridges, roads, culverts and other structures, relationships, both internal and external, and matter of strategic and tactical importance to the department.

Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • managing, coaching, mentoring, supporting and supervising the Project Management Office team;
  • acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members;
  • delivering full-scale project plans and effectively communicating project expectations;
  • drafting and submitting operational budget proposals and recommending budget changes;
  • planning, managing, scheduling and reporting on project timelines, milestones and deliverables;
  • identifying potential project issues, preparing risk review plans and recommendations complete with contingency plans;
  • building, developing and growing business relationships with various stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • University degree in Engineering with eight (8) years of progressively related experience, in which three (3) years must at least include direct supervisory experience in employment management and project management.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
  • Have proof of project training, such as Project Management Program (PMP) training or other equivalent.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

SALARY:

Pay Band 7: $3,480.00 to $4,211.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
