About BIMCORBIMCOR is one of Canada's largest corporate pension fund managers and a wholly owned subsidiary of BCE Inc., the country's largest telecommunications company. Established in 1983, BIMCOR's mandate is to oversee the investment and financial administration of the pension assets of the Bell Canada group of companies.
With approximately $30 billion in defined benefit and defined contribution assets under management, BIMCOR primarily follows an external investment management model, complemented by selected direct and co-investment activities. The Bell Canada defined benefit plans are well-funded, benefiting from a successful liability-driven investment approach for over a decade.
BIMCOR operates with a diverse and talented team of approximately 35 employees, including:
• An investment team (14 professionals) responsible for portfolio construction, strategy implementation, risk management, manager selection and monitoring, as well as selected direct and co-investments.
• A finance team that provides full administrative support, including investment accounting valuation and performance measurement across various pension accounts, pooled funds, and structures.
• An information technology team that manages data, applications, and internal technology infrastructure.

The Role:The Senior Director, Investments – Real estate will lead and manage BIMCOR's real estate portfolio, reporting directly to Nicolas Drapeau, VP of Private Markets.
Portfolio Overview
• ~$1.8 billion in NAV (~$2.3 billion including uncalled commitments).
• Evenly split between funds and direct/co-investments.
• Primarily Canadian assets with significant international exposure.
Key Responsibilities• Portfolio Management: As the lead portfolio manager, oversee existing relationships, manager selection, and co-investment opportunities.
• Due Diligence & Strategy: Lead due diligence efforts and lead asset class strategy.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent BIMCOR on advisory committees and industry events.
• Private Markets Investment Strategy: Support broader private markets investments, ESG initiatives, and manager research.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Work cross-functionally to maintain and enhance BIMCOR's collaborative, high-integrity culture.
Critical Qualifications- 15+ years of real estate investment management and leadership experience.
- Expertise in manager selection and portfolio management.
- Ability to evaluate and manage co-investment and direct opportunities.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Negotiation expertise with partners and stakeholders.
- Institutional investment and buy-side experience.
- Deep technical knowledge of real estate and private markets including development of specific real estate tools and workflows.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce or related field.
- CFA designation (preferred)
- Real estate designation (preferred)
- Bilingual (French & English)
