Job Summary
NL Health Services Urban Zone is inviting applications for a 1.0.Full-time UroOncologist at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, NL.
The Health Sciences Center is a 360 acute care bed teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University. This provides the candidate with the opportunity to engage in educational experiences with both surgical residents and undergraduate medical students.
The successful candidate will join a group of 8 urologists and 3 nurse practitioners. Assistance is also provided through 24/7 catheter technician coverage. Payment structure will be fee-for-service. The urologist will have equal access to hospital resources including clinic, day surgery, and operative room. On-call coverage is shared equitably within the group (1:8 call) and eligible for on-call stipend. Consults are received via central intake and distributed evenly among the group.
Required Qualifications
To be considered, successful candidates will:
- Hold a medical degree and have certification by the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urology (or equivalent).
- Eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Preference will be given to candidates with UroOncology fellowship training and experience in cystectomy procedures.
- Satisfy credentialing requirements of Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
Remuneration: Payment structure will be fee-for-service.
