Demands, duties, qualifications
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Regional Surgical Services (Perioperative), the Division Manager will be accountable for the efficient and effective planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating of patient-care activities for Surgical Services (Perioperative) / Children & Women's Health. The Division Manager will be responsible for patient care, safety and management, the effective and efficient utilization of resources, as well as participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program and division key directions, objectives, and strategies. The incumbent will also participate in management on-call duties.

Job Qualifications

Education
A Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related discipline is required.
Master's degree preferred

Experience
A minimum of five years of acute care experience within the last seven is required.
Previous management experience is required.
Acute care experience in Pediatrics, Women's Health, or Perioperative would be an asset.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of issues related to Paediatrics, Women's Health, or Perioperative.
Knowledge of program development, implementation and evaluation.
Knowledge of quality improvement and project management.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated strong leadership skills focused on supporting and empowering members of the team.
Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills and innovation in problem solving and decision making.
Demonstrated conflict management skills.

Other
Current registration/licensure in the relevant professional association is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
