Position Summary
As a Release Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our technology initiatives, orchestrating the seamless implementation of releases. Your role is pivotal in planning, preparing, executing, and reviewing changes and releases, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
You'll collaborate closely with Technical Change Owners, Change Managers, and Release Managers, championing compliance with Medavie's Change and Release Management Practices. As a key player in the IT Service Management team, you'll facilitate and coordinate the delivery of Medavie's services, making a significant impact on our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Lead the planning and oversight of major technology initiatives, including lifecycle refreshes and modernization projects.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with key business and IT stakeholders to evaluate the risk, impact, and benefits of IT changes and releases.
- Compliance Champion: Ensure adherence to established Change and Release practices and compliance requirements.
- Resource Management: Facilitate resource management and align with Service Transition and Release Management objectives.
- Release Coordination: Support the planning and coordination of all phases and activities involved in releasing a system or system update into the production environment.
- Deployment Planning: Develop comprehensive release deployment plans based on input from multiple stakeholders within various portfolio teams.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify priorities, conflicts, dependencies, and risks for the release, and ensure plans are in place to mitigate those risks.
- Execution Assurance: Confirm that the release deployment plan is followed and that all release deliverables are completed in line with the release dates and deadlines.
- Process Improvement: Maintain documentation of all processes and identify opportunities for improvements to the release process.
- Technical Deployment Support: Support and facilitate coordination and communication during technical deployments that occur outside core business hours.
- Service Restoration: Provide support or coordination during high-priority service restoration activities in the event of major outages.
Required Qualifications
Education : University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program preferred; equivalent experience to be considered.
Language Skills : English. Bilingualism would be considered an asset
Work Experience : 5 or more years of IT experience in service operations, should have good understanding of technical infrastructure as well as the development lifecycle of a product or service.
Security Clearance: Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
