As part of the Global Finance Strategic alignment with the new all-bank strategy, the Senior Manager, Change Management, Training and Communication is responsible for managing change management initiatives related to the Financial Planning & Analysis modernization program and enterprise-wide implementation of Anaplan. The Senior Manager contributes to the overall success of Global Finance in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge

Change Management Strategy:

  • Support the Director in development and implementation of change management strategies to aid the FP&A modernization program.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders / multi-functional teams to identify change impacts and develop mitigation plans.
  • Manage alignment of change management activities with the overall program objectives.
  • Assist the Director in the development and management of processes to drive ongoing Anaplan usage

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Manage and support the Director in engagements with finance and enterprise-wide business partners to understand their needs and concerns related to Anaplan implementation.
  • Design and facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and smooth transitions.
  • Design and prepare reports and presentations to update senior leaders on change management progress and challenges, and support appropriate escalations as needed.

Training and Development:

  • Manage the design and delivery of training programs to support the adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Create training materials and resources to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and manage necessary adjustments.

Communication:

  • Design and implement communication plans to keep stakeholders informed about change initiatives.
  • Create communication materials, such as presentations, newsletters, and emails, to convey key messages.
  • Manage consistent and transparent communication throughout the change process.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and resistance related to change initiatives and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and address issues that arise during the implementation of change initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements related to change management.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of business experience with a focus on Finance, change management, transformational initiatives.
  • Minimum education level of a University degree in Education, Communications, Business Management, Finance or equivalent.
  • Change management, communications and training experience and certification is an preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed presentation and written communication skills. Ability to prepare communications and training materials, and interact effectively with internal and external parties to build relationships
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, and with external vendors.
  • Strong technical skills in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
