In this role, you will :
Responsibility 1 - Operations
- Implements and maintains transportation services procedures, standards, and driver requirements.
- Manage daily communication with Toronto Ride (Partnership of TR Program).
- Assesses eligibility of transportation clients.
- Assesses clients' needs based on requests to determine vehicle required.
- Refers clients to other health or social services when appropriate.
- Maintains confidential client files.
- Assesses client's subsidy applications.
- Produces daily/weekly/monthly schedules that match volunteer Drivers and vehicles to clients and routes.
- Liaises with driver and client to confirm details or inform of changes.
- Coordinates vehicle cleanliness and oversees fleet maintenance/repairs with support from Fleet Manager.
- Produce statistical reports and other correspondence as required by various funders and provides to Senior Manager(s).
- Reconcile monthly transactions between RC and Toronto Ride Partner Agencies, processing payments if necessary.
Responsibility 2 - Quality and Risk Management
- Ensures that service standards and procedures for client services are met through supervision and Quality Management (QM) and Risk Management policies and practices.
- Ensure that accidents/incidents are reported and recorded according to established policies and practices of Red Cross.
- Maintain appropriate and timely documentation of events and issues.
- Monitors client service with respect to adherence to standards and procedures and emergency policy issues.
- Contributes to a healthy and safe working environment for staff and volunteers and to promote client safety.
Responsibility 3 - Human Resources Management
- Establishes a system which ensures that volunteers, staff and clients have a respectful, warm and dignified environment.
- Ensures all staff and volunteers follow established policies, procedures, and practices
- Recruits, trains, orients, supervise and evaluates staff and volunteers.
- Complete onboarding process of volunteers and drivers.
- Directs and supervises staff in work assignments.
- Identifies need for volunteer drivers and integrates volunteer resources within the job's scope of responsibilities.
- Ensure training and development opportunities are available to enhance performance and retention.
What we are looking for :
- The minimum qualifications for this job are completion of a three-year community college diploma, and 1-3 years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be knowledgeable/experienced in client and vehicle database management.
- Experience leading cross-team projects and demonstrated success in achieving change.
- Experience with national, service-based, non-profit organizations is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills are essential with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the community health care industry is an asset.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills in resources and personnel management are an essential asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office software application is required.
- Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.
