What you will do:
Reporting to the Director of Éducation inclusive au primaire, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
Working on the implementation of French curricula from kindergarten to Grade 8. Planning, developing and implementing a program with various professional development modules on learning how to read.
Planning, developing and implementing the literacy strategy. Collaborating with various partners in connection with literacy and French to establish and offer professional development, provide training and develop any other learning resources required for literacy and French.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
- Planning, developing and implementing French programs from kindergarten to Grade 2.
- Planning, developing and implementing the literacy strategy.
- Planning, developing and implementing the programming of various types of training and professional development.
- Doing research on literacy and learning of French.
- Assembling instructional resources.
- Working with various partners in the literacy sector.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have:
- A master's degree in education and a minimum of six (6) years' teaching experience in an inclusive K?8 public education system.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of instructional approaches to numeracy and best practices in literacy at the primary level.
- Ability to supervise and train teaching staff.
- Ability to analyze data and adapt strategies to the needs of students and/or teachers.
- Skills in collaboration and development of educational resources.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a field such as adult education/coaching may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

Salary:
Pay Band 7: $90,480 to $109,486 annually
Work environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton
- A remote work agreement may be considered in New Brunswick.
- Teamwork is promoted.
- Some travel throughout the province will be required.
- Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
