The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Information and Analytics, the Manager of Change and Process Excellence will lead the management, design and implementation of corporate initiatives at EfficiencyOne, following appropriate change-management principles and strategies.
The successful candidate is a change leader who will help build and instill a continuous improvement mindset across the organization, using human-centered design, Lean, and agile methods. The individual will engage cross-functional teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure the success of organizational change initiatives in support of the organizational goals. They will play a crucial role in driving adoption and proficiency with the changes that impact our customers, employees, partners, and stakeholders. As a non-profit, EfficiencyOne values a commitment to responsibility and ethical decision-making in all aspects of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement change management plans that include communication strategies, training programs, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on the organization and its stakeholders and develop strategies to manage this impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that change initiatives are aligned with business goals and integrated seamlessly with existing processes.
- Manage the implementation of new initiatives by leveraging human-centered design, lean and agile methodologies, together with direction from customer journey maps to drive process efficiencies
- Coordinate and manage project management for initiatives, including external project managers (where applicable), as well as external implementation expertise where applicable (e.g., process design subject matter experts, technology partners, etc.)
- Monitor the progress of change initiatives and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
- Engage with and coach leaders and managers to drive change leadership and to support their teams through transitions.
- Develop metrics and measure the success of change management activities to inform continuous improvement.
- Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics to address potential obstacles to change.
- Create and manage feedback mechanisms to capture stakeholder input and to foster an environment of continuous learning and adaptation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure broad support for change initiatives.
- Ensuring change adoption is sustained by embedding new approaches into the organization's culture and practices.
What Will Help You Succeed?
- A bachelor's degree in business management, organizational development, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of lived experience may be considered. A Graduate Degree is regarded as a strong asset.
- Certifications in Six Sigma (e.g., Black Belt), Lean methodologies, or similar are preferred.
- Change management certifications, such as Prosci Change Management Certification, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), or similar are viewed as highly beneficial.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in change management or a related field, with proven experience leading organizational change initiatives.
- Experience in project management, including planning, executing, and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization to effectively convey change initiatives and strategies while garnering buy-in.
- Strong analytical skills that enable a thorough evaluation of potential changes and their impact on existing processes, systems, and outcomes. This includes the ability to identify risks, both immediate and long-term, associated with changes and the ability to break down complex data to understand their potential consequences.
- Proven interpersonal skills that foster the development of meaningful relationships with stakeholders across all levels of an organization. This includes communicating effectively, actively listening, and adapting to the diverse needs and perspectives of different individuals or teams.
What to expect in your first several weeks on the job:
In the first week, expect to:
- Meet the Senior Director, Information and Analytics (I&A), other Executive Leadership Team members, and the rest of the I&A team.
- Familiarize yourself with EfficiencyOne's culture, practices, and procedures.
- Get comfortable with your surroundings.
In the first month, expect to:
- Meet with leaders and employees across the organization to learn more about our work.
- Deepen your organizational awareness and better understand our short- and longer-term goals.
- Review our I&A team plan for 2025 and understand how your role will contribute to our organizational objectives.
- Develop a high-level plan for the first 90 days in your role.
- Draft your individual goals and objectives and further discuss performance expectations.
In the first three months, expect to:
- Continue establishing relationships with leaders, employees, and partners.
- Develop a deeper understanding of core current-state business processes.
- Build out requirements, processes, and materials/artifacts for management and cadence of change processes.
- Start to take over the management of 2025 corporate process improvement and modernization initiatives.
